SSGT. Luther Moses Joshua

Luther Moses Joshua, age 72, of Gainesville, Florida, departed this life on July 15, 2026. Luther was a retired custodian of the United States Postal Service and a retired United States Army Staff Sergeant and an active member of the Improved, Benevolent, Protective Order of Elks of the World.

Luther was born on April 30, 1954, to the late Moses Joshua and Betty Jean Henderson in Williston, Florida.

SSGT Joshua is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Joshua; his sons, Terrance White (Alice) and Lamont Lee; his siblings, Arthur Leon Joshua (Gloria), Dorthey R. Copeland (Jimmie), Valery Annette McCoy (Charles), Myra Joshua Sweet (Ronald), Kenneth Brown (Angie), Edwin Brown, Kathy Hayes-Brown(Paul), Karl Brown (Girleen), Kay Brown, Lavoris "Tony" Brown (Yvette), Karen Brown, Melvin Brown, and Daryl Brown (Terrie); as well as seven grandchildren Jazzman, Terriana, Justis, Jordan, Dominick, Maryiah, Wynter, Terrance and great-grandchildren Triton, Trylon, Malik and Aaron and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
