OBITUARY

Mrs. Shirley Jean Patterson Tayor was born August 01, 1942, to the parents of Mr. Gibb and the ate Rosena May Patterson.

Shirley attended Bronson Elementary School and graduated High School, 1960, at Williston Vocational High School, Williston, Florida. She attended undergraduate school at Edward Water College, Jacksonville, Florida, BS Degree, Elementary Education , 1964, completed post graduate study at Florida A&M University and completed mayor certifications forward her educational and professional career.

Shirley accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord at an early age. She was a loyal and dedicated member of Apostolic Faith Temple Church where she served faithfully as the church secretary.

She later affiliated with Church of God By Faith under the current Elder Alvin Robibson as a dedicated and faithful member. She was also involved in the life of Bronson Civic & Governmental activities, as well attended many City of Bronson Town meetings.

Shirley’s passion was teaching 5th grade in Duval County Public Schools in 1964. She adored this age group and gained great joy as they thrived and grew academically. After Shirley retired from teaching she returned to Levy County, Bronson, Florida where she taught adult basic education(ABE) at Levy County ARC, Chiefland, Florida from 200-2006.

Shirley the oldest of nine children, leaves precious and loving memories that will live on in the hearts of her father, Gibb Patterson and her seven siblings. (Shirley was preceded in death her mother Rosena Patterson and oldest brother Eddie G. Patterson.) Betty P. Johnson, Jacksonville, Florida, Maxine P. Green(Charles), Gainesville, Florida, Gary A. Sims, Williston, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family and friends.
