A Time To Be Born:
On December 27, 1939, Roosevelt entered the world in Rutledge, Florida, as the beloved child of the late Brady Sr. and Lucretia Jones.
A Time To Be Educated:
Roosevelt received his education through the Alachua County school system and proudly graduated from Lincoln High School in Gainesville, Florida.
A Time To Serve Our Country:
Roosevelt dedicated many years of his life to serving in the United States Army and proudly retired as a veteran.
A Time To Work:
Roosevelt dedicated many years to a successful career as a truck driver, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.
A Time To Enjoy Life:
Roosevelt cherished quality time with his family. He enjoyed dancing, loved going bowling, and was a proud fan of the Florida Gators.
A Time To hear a Clear Call From Heaven:
On February 19, 2026, Roosevelt peacefully completed his earthly journey and entered into eternal rest to receive his heavenly reward.
A Time To Remember His Legacy:
Roosevelt is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Pastor Rachel Douglas-Jones of Gainesville, Florida. He also leaves behind two sons: Sheriff Chad D. Scott of Gainesville, Florida, and Master Sergeant, Roosevelt Jason Jones, Jr. (Andrea) of Smyrna, Tennessee; three daughters: Brenda Brown (James) of Williston, Florida, Trentonia Jones of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Takiesha Jones of Gainesville, Florida; as well as a bonus daughter, Katura Douglas. His legacy continues through numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he was also blessed with devoted godchildren, including Karmen Williams (Micah), Conquer Ellis and Dr. Lois Hermon. Roosevelt is remembered by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Jerome Lee, Alberta Jones, Cheryl Williams, Anna Jo Dinkins and Constance Batie (Fred). He further leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends
