Randall (Randy)Tyrone Johnson

Randy Johnson was born on December 16, 1966, to the late Willie Johnson & the late Gloria Jean Watson in Inverness, FL. He was the oldest of Gloria’s seven children. He was preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” Johnson and his sister Shelnise Johnson.

Randy was educated in the Marion County Public School system. He graduated from Dunnellon High School in 1986.

Randy served in the United States Navy from November 1988 to May 1996 with an honorable discharge. Randy received the following awards and medals: Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense, Southwest Asia, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Good Conduct. 

Randy was employed with DHL Delivery Service as a Service Agent in Orlando, FL, then promoted to a Supervisor for DHL Independent Contractors until his health failed.

Randy passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at his home in Marion Oaks, FL.

 He leaves to mourn a devoted life partner, Shirley White: one son, Clarence Griffin-Mixon (Shaquanda)of Pensacola, FL, and one daughter, Natalia Murphy of Gainesville, FL. Eight grandchildren: Tamya & Nazir Murphy, A’nilah, Pierre Jr. & Perrin Dixon all of Gainesville, FL, and Zachariah, Josiah, Z’Arianna Griffin-Mixon all of Pensacola, FL. One brother, Douglas Maxwell (April) of Alachua, FL, five sisters: Victoria Thomas of Dunnellon, Varice Powell, Varetta Chesteen (Keith) of Citrus Springs, FL., and Venita Maxwell of Beverly Hills, FL. Sixteen nieces & nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
