1960 – John Keith Merritt - 2025

John Keith Merritt was born to the late Richard Fears and Lovie Watkins on October 13, 1960, who he preceded in death.

John attended high school at Morningside in Los Angeles, California.

John was a member at New Zion A.M.E Church for the past 2 years.

John left us to remember his memories on August 4, 2025.

His memories will forever be cherished, and his presence will be missed by his beloved sister and caregiver: Deanna Fears. John moved back to Florida in 2023 under the care of his sister(Deanna). She was a compassion, strong, and involved caregiver. Her brother was forever grateful for his sister. She gave him strength, courage, and confidence. Their love guided them through challenges which helped them both with compassion and empathy.

John also leaves seven children: Elaine Ethridge(Aubrey), John Merritt Jr.(Angela), Laquoa Merritt, Sean Merritt, Jonnette Merritt, Rico Merritt, and Marcus Merritt; four brothers: Gregory Merritt, Harold Merritt, Curtis Watkins, and Kirk Watkins; two sisters: Deanna Fears, and Angela Covington; 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
