 A time to be born:

Mr. James Andrew Collins affectionally known as "GATOR" was born December 25, 1957, to the late Blair “Bun” Collins & Willie Mae (Wallington) Collins in Blair, South Carolina. 

 

A Time to be Educated: 

James attended McCroroey-Liston School of Technology in Fairfield County South Carolina. 

 After his schooling James decided to move down south to The Reddick/Williston area of Florida with his God father Glen Douglas, in doing so James became well known in the Reddick/Williston community, James met no stranger, his vibrant attitude, infectious laugh, loud mouth & bursting personality made you love him, he was a friend Uncle Brother & Dad “Papa” to many. James met his wife Ms. Tammy Trell Coleman, and they began dating, their courtship turned into an engagement, and they decided to get married on June 27, 2001, James took on a new wife and 5 stepkids. 

 

A Time to work: 

James worked for V.E. Whitehurst & sons & Cross County Paving, after his retirement he worked various odd jobs. 

 

A Time to Fellowship: 

James was a member of Nolan Missionary Baptist Church & a Brother of the Masonic Lodge. 

 

A Time to Die:

 James entered into the master’s arms on February 7, 2024, at 12:32pm at Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville Fl. 

 

James Laves to Cherish His Love and Memories :

His wife Tammy Trell Coleman-Collins; 1  daughter, Tearoni Hhawu of Georgia; 5 stepchildren whom he raised as his own, Shutamia Williams (Denard), Brandon Coleman, Kelcey Coleman, Matthew Coleman (Kiara), and Hanna Coleman; 14 step Grandchildren & counting; 1 Brother: Ernest Collins (Clover); 5 Sisters: Ruby Collins, Von Picott (Palo), Meta Collins & Yvette Collins (Stanley P.) all of South Carolina; Mother in law: Overseer/Pastor Eloise M. Sims; Brother in law: Ronald T. Coleman; Sister in law: Greta M. Walker; Special God family: God Mother: Ruby Reaves; God Brother & Sisters: Larosa Sims, Fredrick Brown, Charessa Douglas, Lawanda Frazier & Andrea Barnes (Brian); Godson: Elijah Brown  as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends 

 

James is preceded in death by his Father & Mother Bun & Willie Mae Collins, 1 Brother: Alphonso Collins Father in law: Wilbert Coleman Jr. & God Father Glen Douglas.
