Earnest L. McCray

Earnest McCray passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at North Florida Medical Hospital.  Earnest was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Delia McCray and four siblings – Delores McCray, Mac (MC) McCray, Mary E. Brown and Gwendolyn McCray.

Earnest McCray was born to the late Gus and Delia McCray on November 29, 1950 in Gainesville, Florida.  He graduated from Lincoln High School and retired from the University of Florida Shands Environmental Services.  Earnest was a man of God serving his church, Open Door Ministries well over 40 years.  He was a true Florida Gator fan.

Earnest will forever live in the hearts of his three siblings – Essie Mae Anderson, Annie Pearl McCray and Alberta Hopkins Walls, all of Gainesville, FL; Dedicated Nieces – Pamela Green Brown Fulton, Janet McCray Williams (Ernest), Sharon McCray Curtis, Flozetta (Susie) Bryant all of Gainesville, FL; Dedicated Nephew – Kenneth D. Traylor (Wanda) of Archer, FL; Special Nephew/Son – Michael Folston of Gainesville, FL; Special Grand Niece – Shannon Curtis of Gainesville, FL, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
